Singular vs AppsFlyer: Independent MMP Comparison and Migration Checklist

Need selection, comparison and pricing in one discussion?

Use the combined MMP decision walkthrough to review platform fit, Singular versus AppsFlyer and commercial requirements together.

Singular and AppsFlyer can both measure mobile growth, but the buying decision should start with your reporting architecture—not a feature-count contest. Use this independent checklist to compare attribution, cost and ROI data, privacy-era measurement, integrations, implementation effort, and commercial fit.

Quick answer

Shortlist Singular when unifying attribution with granular campaign-cost data, ROI reporting, configurable attribution logic, and direct data delivery is central to the project. Shortlist AppsFlyer when your evaluation emphasizes its broad measurement suite, cross-platform coverage, partner ecosystem, deep linking, fraud protection, and published entry-level pricing options. Run the same proof-of-concept scorecard for both before committing.

Start with five requirements

  1. Measurement scope: apps, web journeys, re-engagement, CTV or other surfaces.
  2. Source-of-truth design: which events, revenue definitions and attribution rules drive budget decisions.
  3. Data operations: connectors, naming normalization, API or warehouse delivery, freshness and retention.
  4. Privacy and governance: consent, access controls, data minimization, regional requirements and vendor review.
  5. Commercial reality: expected conversion volume, required modules, implementation resources, support and contract terms.

Where Singular may be the stronger fit

  • Your main problem is reconciling network cost with attribution and revenue at useful campaign granularity.
  • You want configurable attribution rules and a data pipeline into Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks or another supported destination.
  • Your team needs marketing analytics even while using a third-party tracker during evaluation or migration.
  • You are prepared to validate exact connector coverage, plan entitlements and implementation effort with the vendor.

Where AppsFlyer may be the stronger fit

  • Your shortlist values its published measurement suite across mobile, web, CTV and other supported surfaces.
  • You need to assess its partner integrations, deep-linking, fraud protection, analytics or cross-platform options as one ecosystem.
  • A published entry route matters for early evaluation, while you understand that paid activity, limits and add-ons must be checked against the current plan.
  • Your organization already has operating knowledge or integrations built around AppsFlyer.

Proof-of-concept scorecard

TestPass criterion
Install and event QATest devices and server events appear with agreed timestamps, parameters and deduplication.
Paid-channel reconciliationDocumented variance between network, store, MMP and internal revenue data stays within an agreed threshold.
Deep linksNew, returning, deferred and fallback journeys route correctly across target OS versions.
PostbacksOnly approved events and fields reach each partner, with consent and privacy controls applied.
Cost/ROI reportingSpend, currency, campaign hierarchy and revenue definitions reconcile for the selected networks.
Exports and BIThe team can retrieve required aggregated or user-level data under the proposed plan and governance rules.

What each vendor publishes about price

Singular publishes $0.05 per conversion on Growth. AppsFlyer’s current public pricing page publishes $0.07 per conversion on Starter after the 12,000-conversion Welcome Package. Align the billable conversion definition, included features, support and overage rules before comparing rates.

Free allowances are not directly comparable. Singular lists 15,000 paid conversions without stating the allowance period. AppsFlyer lists 12,000 conversion measurements for the first year. Confirm both in writing.

AppsFlyer’s current pricing page labels the free option Basic and pay-as-you-go option Starter; support documentation may still refer to Zero and Growth. Basic is explicitly described as not suitable for apps with paid activities. Sources: Singular pricing and AppsFlyer pricing.

Migration risks to price before signing

  • Running two SDKs without a controlled parallel-test window
  • Changing event names or revenue rules during the vendor migration
  • Breaking existing deep links, QR codes or partner campaign URLs
  • Sending duplicate or conflicting postbacks to ad networks
  • Losing historical dashboard continuity or raw-data access
  • Underestimating engineering, QA, legal, privacy and analytics ownership

Singular vs AppsFlyer: evidence scorecard

Decision area Run the same test in both evaluations
Attribution coverage Map the required channels, web-to-app journeys, SKAN workflow and unattributed cases.
Data access Compare export granularity, schema, latency, retention, APIs and warehouse reconciliation.
Campaign operations Build representative links, partner mappings, cost ingestion and reporting views with your own taxonomy.
Implementation Estimate SDK/server work, QA cases, partner changes, migration overlap and release dependencies.
Commercial terms Compare current written quotes, included volume, overages, support and contract flexibility—not list-price assumptions.

Answer first: choose from matched proof-of-concept results and total operating cost. Neither vendor is universally better for every app, team or channel mix.
