Read beyond the recipe name
The chicken listing gives 3,215 kcal/kg and 504.8 kcal/cup, with a stated 12 cups per 4.5-lb bag. Its guaranteed analysis includes minimum protein 28%, minimum fat 10%, maximum moisture 14% and maximum fibre 4.5%. These are manufacturer figures for this recipe, not values for the entire range or a feeding prescription.
The full ingredients include salmon oil and skim milk powder. A chicken-named food is therefore not automatically a single-protein or elimination diet. The listing’s AAFCO statement includes all life stages, including growth of large-size dogs; suitability for a particular animal still depends on its needs and veterinary restrictions.
